I came from the east coast, and occurred to be invited by some distant cousins to go to them at Cincinanti, Ohio. You won’t believe 1 from the well-liked games they play available: cornhole.
My First Impression Of Cornhole
I was spending as well much time playing video games, or so my mother stated, and had to get out in to the sun. Because the city was not her idea from the greatest atmosphere for outdoor activity, she shipped me off to my cousins sans my gaming console. Because I didn’t really believe for a minute that my cousins didn’t play video games also, I went willingly.
I found once I got there that my mother really pulled 1 over me. My uncle had already banned my cousins from playing several months earlier! I resigned myself for a boring two week stay, but perked up when my cousin told me he had “plans.”
They dragged me out of bed early in the morning and led me to a little clearing. As soon as I got over my initial sleepiness, I was amazed to determine a couple of their friend throw little bags alternately towards each other! What in the world were they doing?
Each of them was standing beside a platform, and faced each other across a distance of around eight feet. They were tossing bags towards the opposite platform and whooping when the bags either landed on the board or into a hole in the board. I turned to a cousin incredulously, and he stated that the game was known as cornhole. I barely stifled the laugh that rose at the name! It turns out, that was the surprise they planned for me, and they intended for me to play it for the remainder of my stay.
Playing The Cornhole Game
My cousin ignored the odd gurgle that came from my throat when he identified the game as cornhole, and proceeded to clarify the guidelines from the funny cornhole game. Apparently two teams competed against each other by tossing their bags onto the opposite teams board. They earned 1 point when the bag landed on leading from the cornhole board, and 3 points if the bag entered the hole.
As he was talking, I walked towards 1 from the glossy boards and examined the six x 6” hole at 1 finish. He pitched a bag towards me, and I saw it was really a square-shaped, canvas beanbag. My cousin stated it was really filled with corn feed (!), which I suppose is why the game is also known as corntoss.
With nothing else to do, I decided to give it a shot. It turned out to be a lot much more tough than it looked, and I was only in a position to lob the cornhole bag onto the board a couple of times. Amidst the heckling, I finally lost having a humiliating score of 2 versus 21.
Later that night, as I was suffering from a painful sunburn and an aching shoulder, I decided to practice secretly at dawn. Before the two weeks were up, I was proud to say that I finally beat my cousin once at the funny cornhole game. It was really pretty addicting, and was probably the reason why they didn’t mind the video game ban that much.
So there’s my story of how I literally spent two weeks throwing bags of corn around. It’s really pretty hilarious once you believe of it, but I enjoyed it somehow. Obviously, I won’t be telling anyone I really know about how I played cornhole.
