Nearly fifty years ago, the Star Trek galaxy was born, creating a huge selection of species and planets to be explored, interstellar situations, galaxy-spanning love stories along with a robust, positive ideal for humanity's enhancement. We've watched the Federation's origination, its expansion and its struggle for survival against sinister resistance. We've noticed it produce treaties with its long-standing adversaries in the name of intergalactic peace. We've also seen upfront how intense the crews of Starfleet ships can be: banding together against the Borg; holding solid against the Dominion; fighting to cross the entirety of the galaxy just to return home.
Following the completion of Star Trek: Voyager and the Star Trek films (which took us to around 2380), the relaunch novels and Star Trek: Online took us bravely into new territories. That is the beauty of Star Trek: the quest never ever ceases! As the universe continues to grow, you have a distinctive opportunity to carve out your own niche, with your own character and your own crew. Imagine working through the ranks, from cadet, with the opportunity of someday taking command of your own ship? You may have some thought of how you'd like the journey between those two points to go, essential pieces of character development that you'd wish to establish during the trip. What takes place whenever you hit something sudden, though? How does your character behave? How can they conform to circumstances they by no means expected to be in? How do they handle discord, romance, friendships and fallouts? That is the magnificence of a free Star Trek RPG - you will get to watch as your character grows, incorporating layers of depth that you could by no means even have conceived of!
Add to that the opportunity to make good friends with the authors behind the other characters inside your crew and the fleet as a whole as well as an annual awards process that pairs having a chance for a service ribbon at the end of each mission and I'm sure you'll agree that the amount of incentive is tempting! Not only that, but we dedicate a fantastic amount of time to helping our members to enhance their writing abilities, via tutorials, workshops and interviews with celebrity authors! What are you waiting for? Go to UFOP: Starbase 118 and sign up for the fleet!
